Corrosion is a global menace to crucial infrastructure — act to stop the rot now
The collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, Maryland, in March, killing 6 workers, is a reminder of the vulnerability of much of the world’s ageing infrastructure. Such events are difficult to legislate against, but there are more insidious concerns: wear and tear and corrosion increasingly plague bridges, buildings, pipelines and other crucial assets.
